Kecil Kecil Punya Karya (KKPK): The Strategy of Preserving Ideas from Children Stories Written by Children

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the strategy of preserving the ideas for children stories written by children through Kecil Kecil Punya Karya (KKPK) programs initiated by a local publisher, Mizan. KKPK is a program that collects stories and supports children writers aged 7–12 years old by publishing their stories. The data for this research are collected through interviews with junior and senior KKPK editors, and the documents and information provided on the KKPK’s web page. The results of this research show that KKPK programs foster and facilitate children writing their ideas or stories and preserve them through publication. These programs include roadshows and workshops in schools, writing competitions, and conferences for children writers in Indonesia (KPCI). Through these programs, around 700 story titles have been published and hundreds of child writers created.
